I had to design four or more thumbnail layout designs of my own for my double page spread. after I had made my layout designs I chose the one I like and then made and A4 layout plan with my chosen layout. Finally, using my chosen layout design I created a mock double page spread to get an idea of where things would go and how it would fit into the grid design that most magazines try to follow.

Front Cover Initial Layout Design

For my front cover i decided to use an image as the background, I think it looks better because it doesn't leave any empty, white spaces on the page and also allows you to position you text behind and around images creating a more creative, interesting, eye catching cover to look at.
